Eric Liu is co-founder of Bayes Impact, a nonprofit that builds data science solutions to solve pressing social challenges at scale. Eric previously worked as a venture capitalist at Thomvest Ventures, where he invested in data science companies. Eric was awarded the New America Fellowship for his work on improving public access to data related to police use of force in the U.S. He was named one of Forbes’ “30 under 30” promising social entrepreneurs in 2016. Eric graduated magna cum laude from UC Berkeley with a degree in business administration and engineering leadership.

Bayes Impact builds open source software products that leverage data to improve social outcomes on a massive scale. To date, the San Francisco-based firm’s projects have turned data into actions that impact millions of lives across the world by optimizing the delivery of unemployment services, predicting the health risk of underserved patients, and improving access to critical data about police use of force.
